Logging into Cisco ASA through ASDM Launcher

Before log in to the Cisco ASA through ASDM module, you need to install the ASDM Launcher:

1) Open the Internet Explorer and type the below address:

http://<ip_address>

where <ip_address> is outside interface of the firewall context.

2) When you press Enter, you can see the page as given in the below figure.

3) Click on Yes on the Security Alert warning box.

4) Now, click on “Install ASDM Launcher and Run ASDM” button.

5) Then, click on Save button in the download dialog box.

6) After downloading, double click on the downloaded file or application.

7) In the Warning box, select “Always trust content from this publisher” check box and click on Yes.

8 ) In the “Application Security Policy Browser” window, click on Next button.

9) Then, follow the on-screen wizard and complete the installation.

After completing the installation, follow the below steps to log in to the Cisco ASA through ASDM Launcher:

1) Open the ASDM Launcher.

2) Enter the IP address of the outside interface of the firewall context which you want to open and then type the  Password and then click on OK.

3) Wait for some time to load it.

4) Then, you will get the ASDM Console as shown in the below figure.

Now, you can start managing the firewall through ASDM.
